The Session

In 1993, I decided that there was a need for creating beautiful images of women. Real women, not models. Women who wanted to express their sensuality and immortalize their beauty. Real beauty comes in all sizes, shapes, colors, ages and socio-economic backgrounds. Married or not, in a relationship or not. Real live women. Women who have dreams and aspirations, talents and agendas. I am one of those women. I still have a photograph my sister made of me in 1986. I cherish it for showing the inner beauty I knew I had. The outer is somewhat faded but I have that photograph to remind me of that feeling and the emotion stays with me always.

I like to have a conference with my ladies before the shoot, if time permits. If not, I give you an assignment: Flip through magazines, read poetry, look at favorite paintings; tell me your inner thoughts and desires and I will do my very best to bring those out in a beautiful photograph or painting. You may bring costumes, drapes, or be completely nude. And I assure you, you will feel safe and secure in my studio.

After we discuss your vision, we will set a date. Makeup artists are available and I will coordinate schedules. The shoot may last anywhere from 1 to 2 hours. After the session, I will edit the images and prepare your portrait proofs. Then, we will meet again to go over your proofs to discuss sizes, enhancing, retouching, etc. From that point please allow 2 to 3 weeks for the finished portrait. For an oil painting, please allow 3 to 5 months for the finished painting.

One more important thing: Know that your images will be tasteful, elegant and discreet. Couples are welcome, however I have strict guidelines regarding this.

Framing is available upon request.

Retouching beyond minor touch-ups is billed at $100.00 per hour.
